It's made in Pico8 that exports games ("cartridges") in a special png format. So if you want to open the game in Pico8 you can download it instead of playing the web version here.
Somebody that knows how Pico-8 works, and realizes that the game's code is embedded in the png, which pic-8 expects you to load into it? Most people would probably just play it in their browser though...
What an interesting puzzle game! I really enjoyed playing it because of the attention to detail in the graphics and presentation. The puzzle stages get progressively more difficult, so it's good to learn techniques naturally. Having said that, I have only cleared up to stage 14! It was easy to operate the game from the browser of my smartphone, so I will play it there and aim to clear all the stages, meow~!
After two nights thinking about the final level, i finally beat this! I love how many levels are built around the player teaching themselves something new, with zero words for any of the techniques.
I was stuck for a long time on 'dino' until i went back to fully understand 'bookcase' , solving it 3 different ways. I was understanding the nature of carving more and more. Dino had a long chain of figuring out where to start, where to end, and solving many mini-challenges along the way.. I felt like i had tried every possible approach and always coming up just a little short, before finding the right one, and probably there would be other people who could just stumble across the right one much earlier. But it felt rewarding to bring the techniques learnt before together in one level. And just the final level being a dino skull itself while being so challenging, love it...
All in all my favourite game i've finished this year. Not even to mention how difficult it looks to have fit it all into pico-8. Thank you for the worms. This joins 'hot knife through butter' and 'sorcerers detritus' as my favourite small puzzle games
Saw a post showing off this game on tumblr and had to come immediately to try it: What a delight! Really clever game that makes you feel even more clever having solved it, great work!
Man, great game but God I'm as bad as it gets, had a small and fun experience, thank you
I made it up to the "blade" level, as soon as I saw the "smiley" I knew it was GG for me (maybe will revisit it but I have no clue how to solve any figure after that).
Great game if you are up for a challenge/puzzle with some "out of the box" thinking needed.
Really enjoyed this game! I was surprised by the amount of depth that emerged from such a simple mechanic; some of the trickier levels had me coming back to try new solutions that the game kept me thinking of even after I had stopped playing.
I recommend trying to solve all levels on your own even if you need to take a break to refresh your brain, but if you're really stuck, here's my walkthrough of every level:
This is such a fun game and a good concept, but I am hopelessly stuck on Gravestone, and it looks like the rest only get harder from there. Are there any tips or tricks someone could give me?

This game is absolutely brilliant.
how do I eat the inside?
Here's a hint... the final cutout doesn't have to be one continuous piece of wood. It just has to have the same shape as the given model. ;)
That really helped me ty Mr Bacon :D!

I've seen you on youtube, this is so cool!
this is a game to show to your kids
this is to say the concept and presentation is ungenerational and absolutely fantastic work

They just have more soul in them.
Hello, Are you considering bringing a fully fledged version with more content on Steam/consoles? That would be awesome!
Is there a level creator? If there isnt, will there be one in the future? I am just now downloading it.
I plan on making a level creator soon!
👀
do woodworms taste like wood.
no, but they have a crunch if theyve been dried.
Also they dont taste of very much.
This is really good! Lots of 'aha' moments throughout.
Ohh this is a good one! These puzzles are deceptively tricky. I love it!
who the heck whold dowload a freakin' png?!
Dude. This is a browser game. You can play it at the top of the page.

I'm not nearly clever enough to solve all the puzzles without a walkthrough, but this was a delightful game. Nice work.
I'm stuck on level 14. I need a hint or walkthrough.
Super cool! Nice work.
This is really fun! good job on it!
Any plan to add a level sharing/designer feature (maybe through QR codes) ?
Yes! This is something I am still hoping to do :]
I love this game. Where can I donate?
Here is my solution to level 15:

And level 14
Really great mechanic and puzzle design! I enjoyed the challenge.
great work
This was so much fun!
Is there any backstory you can give to this game?
took me a moment, nice!
I need WASD to move...

very fun game! kind of reminds me of some flash games with how simple but interesting it is. also I made a creeper face!
Once I got to level 3 and realised what to do, I immediately realised what a great game it is!

You might need to think of a new way to use gravity to your advantage.
woah, I think I saw some music notes in the loading cartridge bit when I opened this game for the first time, any idea what it might be?
if I recall right: if your sound is muted pico-8 will represent the bootup fanfare visually instead
